New commentary explores Joshua

The latest volume in the “Concordia Commentary” series from Concordia Publishing House is Joshua, by Adolph L. Harstad.

This commentary explores the history, culture, archaeology, and theology of the Book of Joshua, focusing on the faithfulness of God and how He kept His covenant promises, which are fulfilled in Christ.

Throughout the commentary, Harstad shares his knowledge of the Holy Land and his experience as a missionary and pastor to bring the biblical text to life, according to a CPH news release.  Harstad is professor of exegetical theology at Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in Mankato, Minn.

Each book in the “Concordia Commentary” series affirms the inspiration and authority of Scripture while offering an original translation, textual notes on the Hebrew and Greek texts, and theological exposition intended to help readers proclaim the Gospel with greater insight and clarity.
