Retreat for homeschoolers set for August

Registration is still open for a five-day retreat for Lutheran families who home school.  The “Feed My Lambs” retreat will be held Aug. 23-27 at Lutheran Memorial Camp in Cardington, Ohio.  Theme of the gathering is “The Ordinaries of the Divine Service.”

The retreat includes worship, nightly vespers, parental discussions, curriculum sharing, hymn singing, crafts, a game night, a talent show, and other fellowship activities.

The annual event is designed to bring Lutheran homeschoolers together “for support and catechesis,” according to organizer Polly Ekin.  “We have formed a network of friends all over the country and we mingle rather often,” Ekin said.  Previous retreats have been held in Indiana, Missouri and Wyoming.

The gatherings are sponsored by Feed My Lambs, a quarterly newsletter for Lutheran homeschoolers.  To subscribe, send a check for $6 (made payable to “Feed My Lambs”) to Feed My Lambs, c/o Dale and Julee Brynestad, 4309 Pecan Bayou Court, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.

To register for the retreat, send a check for $50 per family to Ruth Earley, 1369 Westfield Ave. S.W., North Canton, OH 44720.
