Dr. Harald Tomesch of Milwaukee has accepted a call to serve as the third president of Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

Tomesch has been on the faculty at Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, since 1997, teaching classes in Greek and New Testament, as well as Internet-based Bible courses. Prior to that, he taught religious studies at Concordia University College of Alberta, Edmonton.
Tomesch is a 1981 graduate of the St. Catharines seminary and holds a 1988 master of theology degree from the University of Toronto. In 1996, he earned a doctor of theology degree, majoring in New Testament studies, from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, the oldest seminary of Lutheran Church–Canada, this fall begins its 30th academic year. The seminary currently has 43 students.
Lutheran Church–Canada is one of 29 confessional Lutheran church bodies worldwide in doctrinal fellowship with The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.
