St. Louis sem announces art exhibit, free reception

“Reflections on Water,” an art exhibit by Karl Fay, will open Dec. 1 at the library art gallery of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and will be on display through Feb. 16.

An opening reception with wine and refreshments will be held in the gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1.  The reception is free and open to the public.

The exhibition of Fay’s cut-paper pieces, screen prints, and paintings “explores the role of water in spiritual life and its allure in the natural world,” according to a seminary news release.

Fay, a second-year student at the seminary, studied studio art at Concordia University in Seward, Neb., and graduated from there in 2004.

The library is open during academic sessions.  Hours are 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, 1-5 p.m. Saturday, and 6-10 p.m. Sunday.  The exhibit is free.
