CPH thanks churches, schools, with $100 gifts

Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, is thanking 7,156 LCMS congregations and schools for their support by sending each of them a $100 gift certificate that’s redeemable for CPH products through March 31.

In his letter accompanying the certificates, CPH President and CEO Bruce G. Kintz wrote, “We at Concordia Publishing House are grateful for your partnership.  It is an honor to serve you as you carry out the Lord’s mission and ministry.”

The certificates — which total $715,600 — were mailed in late December.

“Sales [for 2006] — which are a reflection of our mission service to the church — were the highest in history,” Kintz told Reporter.  “Our ability to give back to the church was thus increased.

“In addition to the 10 percent of bottom-line contribution CPH makes to the International Center each year — which will total over $1.4 million for the past five years — we wanted to do something directly for the churches and schools.”

CPH saw total revenues of more than $46 million for 2006 — up $3 million over the previous year, according to Kintz.

Having record sales, he said, “reflects our customers’ faith in CPH’s products and services.”  And, he added, having more of those products and services in use is sure to strengthen the church’s mission and ministry efforts worldwide.
