LHM offers free Lenten devotions online

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is offering free daily devotions for the Lenten season.  Titled Time for Renewal, they were written by Rev. Doug Nicely, chaplain at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

The devotions will be available — beginning on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 21 — in three formats:

  • for reading online,
  • as downloadable, printable versions in both English and Spanish, and
  • as daily audio clips, in English, to hear online or to copy to your MP3 player.

The printable versions may be customized with church name, worship times, and contact information for use by individual congregations.

They may be printed:

  • as complete booklets, featuring all the devotions from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday.
  • in weekly installments, and
  • in large type.

To view, download, or listen to the devotions, visit LHM’s Time for Renewal Web site at www.lentendevotions.net.  The Web site also features ideas for using the Lenten devotions as “outreach tools,” a link for requesting LHM’s e-newsletter, and a link to many other “outreach resources” available from LHM.
