New ornament depicts Wittenberg church

The first in a series of Ablaze! Christmas ornaments to be issued annuallxmas-ornament.jpgy by LCMS World Mission through 2017 — the 500th anniversary of the Reformation — is now available.

This year’s ornament features the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany — where Dr. Martin Luther is said to have nailed his 95 theses on Oct. 31, 1517.

The ornament was designed by artist John Pils, a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ellisville, Mo.
