Official Notice: 2007 convention registration

On-Site Registration Information

Voting and advisory delegates and representatives are reminded that the 63rd Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will be held in the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, July 14-19.  The Opening Convention Worship Celebration with Holy Communion will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the convention center.  Following a Service of Prayer on Sunday morning at 8 a.m., the first official business session of the convention will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday.

All registered delegates and representatives should have received housing and travel information by this time.  If this is not the case, the district office should be notified.  If a delegate is unable to serve, the district secretary should be informed immediately so that he can properly register the alternate delegate with the secretary of the Synod.

Delegates and representatives should register on-site for the convention as soon as possible after checking into their hotels.  Registration desks on the second floor of the convention center will be open at the following times:
Friday, July 13 — Noon to 6 p.m.
Saturday, July 14 — 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, July 15 — 7:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
July 16-18 — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
July 19 — 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

To register, each delegate will be asked to complete a registration card and take it to the proper registration counter (fees have already been paid by districts).  An orientation session for all delegates is scheduled for 1:30-3 p.m., Saturday, July 14, in the General Assembly Theater located on the third floor of the convention center.

Visitors to the convention are not required to register.  Members of the working press are asked to register in the LCMS Convention Media Center, Room 360.

Members of floor committees should arrive in Houston on July 13.  Floor committees will meet as needed from 1:30 to 9 p.m.  Floor committee open hearings are scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-noon, Saturday, July 14, in the Hilton-Houston America’s Hotel, located across the street from the convention center.  Closed floor committee meetings continue as necessary on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
