The LCMS Northwest District and several Northwestern synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America seek to fill the position of director of consultation to clergy.

The director administers cooperative pastoral care services for the judicatory offices of the LCMS Northwest District and the ELCA synods in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, through:

  • assistance to rostered persons, their families and congregations.
  • consultive relationships with judicatory leaders.
  • referral systems for professional therapy.
  • consultation about ministry issues.
  • education and other resources for growth in a changing environment of ministry.
  • Qualifications:

  • an ordained/rostered Lutheran with specific training and demonstrated ability to integrate spiritual/theological ministry with the healing arts/skills of behavioral science.
  • eligible for clinical membership in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors or related body.
  • master’s or doctoral degree in pastoral counseling or related area.
  • significant parish experience.
  • understanding of organizational systems.
