St. Louis sem offers on-campus workshops

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is sponsoring three on-campus summer workshops for pastors, professional church workers, and interested laypeople.

  • “Technology in the Parish,” June 2-4, with Rev. Anthony Cook, assistant professor of practical theology and director of educational technology.  The workshop focuses on the use of technology within the congregation, in the areas of education, worship, administration, and outreach.  Cost for the workshop is $125, with registration payment due by May 12.
  • “Help for Mid-sized Congregations,” July 28-30, with Dr. David Peter, associate professor of practical theology.   Focusing on the dynamics of a mid-size congregation of 150 to 400 worshipers, the workshop presents three models of organizational structure to help the pastor organize the laity to accomplish the congregation’s mission most effectively.  Cost is $125, with payment due by July 7.
  • “Martin Luther for the Parish Pastor,” Aug. 11-13, with Dr. Timothy Dost, associate professor of historical theology.  Passages and concepts from Luther’s letters and table talks, as well as presentations on Luther’s life and problems, will be examined in the context of parish ministry.  Cost is $125, with payment due by July 21.
