LEA to host administrators

Lutheran Education Association (LEA) is hosting its 2010 National Administrators Conference Feb. 18-20 at the JW Marriott in New Orleans.

Open to anyone, but geared especially to Lutheran preschool and elementary-school administrators, the 2010 conference has the theme of “Transformers!” (based on Rom. 12:2) and will “focus on transformational leadership to take schools and early childhood programs from average to excellent, dead or dying to revitalized and energized, and poorly managed to sleek, efficient, and powerful education ‘machines,'” according to an LEA news release about the event.

Scheduled keynote speakers are Dr. David Walsh of Minneapolis, whose presentation will be titled “Say yes to no”; Dr. Vernard Gant, Colorado Springs, Colo., “Christian education and Christian educating”; and Dr. Mel Kieschnick, Carlsbad, Calif., “75 years of Lutheran schools and looking for more.”

The conference also will include sectional presentations, local service opportunities, and worship. In addition, participants may choose from a variety of pre-conference workshops.
