Seminarians’ benefits

Thanks be to God that our church is beginning to pay attention to its seminarians [by offering affordable health-care coverage to seminary students, as announced in an April Reporter article.]

Lack of affordable health insurance was a real hardship for my family as we attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, from 2001 to 2006.  Please pass on my encouragement and thanks to those at Concordia Plan Services who have made this possible.

Miss America

This is a note to commend Reporter for the refreshing, inspiring, excellent article about Katie Stam, Miss America 2009, in the April issue.  Thank you for that encouraging article about her Christ-honoring faith, witness, heart, attitude, and spirit.

Put her on tour for our schools, colleges, and evangelism department.

Keep giving us more stories like Katie’s.  Her witness is a sharp contrast to the April 13, 2009 Newsweek article on “The Decline and Fall of Christian America”!

Thank you for Katie’s story.

What a wonderful story on Miss America!

She has great opportunities not only to promote her role as official ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network, but also to beam brightly for Christ as she fulfills her obligations as Miss America throughout our nation during this coming year.

Thank you very much for printing that fine article.  I’m sure it will be an inspiration to many other Christian young women.
