Harold Melser of Columbia, Ill., is the new director of the Ministry Advancement division at St. Louis-based Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM).
In his new position, Melser oversees all aspects of LHM’s ministry fundraising operations, including strategic planning, gift and estate planning, corporate communications, annual support, data entry, and telecare.
Melser succeeds Jon Jensen, who now serves as interim executive director of LCMS Campus Ministry.
Melser formerly served as associate vice president of development at the St. Louis Science Center. He also has served as executive director of university development and director of planned giving for the Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Foundation; director of development for LCMS World Mission; executive director of the Deaconess Health System Foundation; and associate stewardship counselor for the LCMS.
“Harold brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this position and I’m excited to have him as a part of the leadership team here at Lutheran Hour Ministries,” said LHM Executive Director Bruce Wurdeman.
