A Place of Refuge Ministries, Milwaukee, Wis., seeks applicants to fill the position of house manager for Refuge House, its residential facility.  As an LCMS Recognized Service Organization, A Place of Refuge exists to aid mothers in choosing to give life to their unborn babies.  The position of house manager is designed for someone, perhaps a deaconess, with a heart for human care and spiritual growth. 

Responsibilities include:

working with each resident on the development of a plan to help her grow spiritually;

encouraging mothers to maintain their health and the health of their developing child;

helping women develop skills needed to live a God-pleasing, independent life; and

setting an example of living a Christ-centered family life.

Qualified candidates will be:

a member in good standing of an LCMS congregation; committed to the LCMS pro-life position; of good Christian character, patient, understanding, kind-hearted, able to work with birth mothers and share the faith with them; and

resourceful, a self-starter, energetic, flexible, and organized.
