“Leadership in Paul” is the theme of the fourth annual Lecture in Hispanic/Latino Theology and Missions, to be held at 7 p.m. March 31 at Concordia
Addressing the theme will be Dr. Efrain Agosto, dean and professor of New Testament, and director of the Program for Hispanic Ministries at Hartford Seminary in Hartford, Conn.
The annual lecture, sponsored by Concordia Seminary’s Center for Hispanic Studies, is designed to raise awareness about issues that affect Latino communities, and to highlight the contributions of Latinos and others to the church.
Admission is free and the lecture will be delivered in English.
A Noche de Cinema, or “Latino Movie Night,” will take place prior to the lecture, at 7 p.m. March 30 in the seminary’s Werner Auditorium. The featured film is “The Wild Bunch,” and Dr. David Lewis, assistant professor of exegetical theology, will lead an after-movie discussion pertaining to “Christ,” “redemption,” and “leadership” themes, as well as the portrayal of Latinos in the classic Western film.
A Spanish worship service will conclude events April 1 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus. Preaching will be Rev. Hector Hoppe, senior editor and director of Concordia Publishing House’s Editorial Concordia.
