St. Louis sem hosts outreach conference

“Reaching Out Together” — a conference for pastors, evangelism boards, church leaders, and laypeople — will be held from 8:30 to 3 p.m. Feb. 14 in Wyneken Hall at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Web-SemEvang.jpg

“For years a group of St. Louis area congregations have been emphasizing the importance of evangelism with their Saturday Outreach School,” said Rev. Rich Marrs, director of continuing education and parish services at the seminary. “We are pleased to reach out together with them and with the Synod’s Ablaze! initiative to encourage even more congregations and Christians to creatively reach out to their communities with the blessed Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The conference is sponsored by the seminary, the LCMS Missouri District, and LCMS North American Missions and is open to pastors and laypersons in neighboring districts. The cost is $20 per person for the first four participants from a single congregation and $12.50 for each additional person. Fees include materials and lunch.

Registration must be completed by Feb. 6 by sending an e-mail to ce@csl.edu or by calling (314) 505-7486.

Seminary president Dale A. Meyer will keynote the conference. Other presenters will be Rev. Scott Snow, director of national outreach with LCMS World Mission; Rev. Joseph Sullivan, pastor of New Beginnings Lutheran Church, Gray Summit, Mo.; and Dr. Yohannes Mengsteab, LCMS World Mission national director of new mission fields development.
