The LCMS Foundation thanks those who have supported LCMS ministries this year and offers these tips for making end-of-year, tax-deductible gifts to the Synod:
- Stock certificate or cash gifts that are mailed should have a U.S. Postal Service postmark of Dec. 31 or earlier. It must be a U.S. Postal Service mark — it cannot be FedEx, UPS, etc.
- Online credit-card gifts may be submitted on the LCMS Mission & Ministry Giving Catalog website (http://catalog.lcms.org) 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until 11:50 p.m. Dec. 31.
- Credit-card gifts also may be made via telephone through the LCMS Donor Care Line (888-930-4438) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CST) Monday through Friday, excluding the following holiday schedule.
LCMS offices will observe the holidays by closing operations on Thursday, Dec. 23; Friday, Dec. 24; and Friday, Dec. 31. Synod offices will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30.
U.S. Postal Service offices, the New York Stock Exchange and banks will be open during regular business hours on the above dates.
