National Offering receives $614,000 for mission, ministry

Through the week of the Synod’s national convention, congregations and their members contributed $614,000 to the 2010 National Offering in support of LCMS ministries.

In an oversized postcard to be mailed to donors and congregations Aug. 15, Synod President Dr. Gerald B. Kieschnick and President-elect Rev. Matthew C. Harrison reported the receipts and thanked donors.

“Your faithful generosity and prayers on behalf of the Synod’s worldwide vision, mission and ministry will be a blessing to all,” they wrote.

Funds received in the offering will be distributed in four areas: national and international mission planting; congregation revitalization; stewardship renewal and education; and mission and ministry of the national Synod.

Kieschnick and Harrison noted there is still time to take part in the offering. Gifts may be sent to “One People — Sharing Christ’s Love,” P.O. Box 790417, St. Louis, MO 63179-9952.
