Second 'PRAY' event set for March

“PRAY 2010,” the second LCMS gathering to focus solely on prayer, is planned for March 18-19 at the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel in St. Louis.

Like PRAY 2009, the event is open to those who consider themselves “intercessors,” or “prayer warriors,” and anyone else who enjoys praying, according to organizers Dr. Victor Belton and Rev. Cliff Bira.

Belton said he considers PRAY 2010 as “the next step in building a grassroots prayer movement in the LCMS.”

PRAY 2010, he said, “will provide the opportunity for willing members and congregations from across our Synod to join together in the power of the Holy Spirit for prayer and consecration in ways that we earnestly pray will be historical,” he said.

The theme of this year’s event will be “Getting Out of Jerusalem,” from Acts 1:8.

“We pray that the Lord will use this time of Lenten discipline and reflection to revitalize His church and further advance the LCMS mission and vision of Ablaze!,” Belton said.

Registration is $89 and includes a dinner and a lunch.  To register online, go to https://pcbman.wufoo.com/forms/pray2010.

The event will begin with prayer at 2 p.m. on March 18, and end at 3 p.m. the following day.  It is limited to 60 participants.

Lodging is available for $67, plus tax, per night, at the Crowne Plaza.  Room rate includes continental breakfast, Internet, and local phone calls.  To reserve a room, call the hotel at 314-291-6700, ask for in-house reservations, and use code PRA.
