Seminaries offer free visits to prospective students

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., have scheduled free visitation events for prospective students.

  • “Contemplate” is the St. Louis seminary’s structured visitation event designed for men interested in the pastoral ministry and women considering deaconess service. The March 10-13 itinerary includes opportunities for participants to visit with the seminary faculty, staff, and students, as well as other event attendees and their spouses.
  • Participants will worship with the seminary community in morning and evening chapel services and attend informational sessions on topics such as ministry, spirituality, and student services, including the admissions process and relocation. Also included will be a student panel discussion with a question-and-answer segment.

  • The St. Louis seminary also is offering a “Green and Gold Day” event on March 19 for college men and women.  This one-day event is designed to provide a quick opportunity for students to experience the campus and community, attend classes, and worship in the chapel.  Pastors and pre-seminary advisers are encouraged to attend the event with their students.

Both events are free, with on-campus meals and housing provided. To register, contact the Admissions Office at 800-822-9545 or admissions@csl.edu.

  • The Fort Wayne seminary’s “Prayerfully Consider Visit” is scheduled for March 24-27.  Men and women interested in service as pastors or deaconesses will have the opportunity to visit with faculty, staff, and members of the student body, worship with the seminary community, and learn about financial aid possibilities.
  • There is no charge for the visit or on-campus meals and housing.  For more information or to register online, go to www.ctsfw.edu/pcv or call the Admissions Office at 260-452-2155.
