Marriage, weddings are focus of sem conference

Concordia Theological Seminary’s Good Shepherd Institute will take an in-depth look at marriage and weddings at its Nov. 6-8 conference, “What God Has Joined Together: The Theology and Practice of Christian Marriage in Rite and Song.”

“This conference is the institute’s response to the many requests from pastors and church musicians for us to tackle the difficult issues and the challenges so often connected to weddings and marriage today,” said seminary Kantor Richard C. Resch, co-director of the Good Shepherd Institute. “We promise a stellar group of presenters, good discussion and many tastes of heavenly music. Please join us!”

Topics at the conference — which will be held on the seminary’s campus in Fort Wayne, Ind. — will run the gamut from music selection, to pre-marriage counseling, to an in-depth look at the Marriage Rite from Lutheran Service Book.

Registration is $125 and includes some meals.  Church musicians may register for $85 when their pastors also attend.
