Sem to host Lay Bible Institute on Islam

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will host a Lay Bible Institute on Islam from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22.
 
The workshop will offer participants information about Islam, including what Christians need to know about the beliefs and practices of Muslims.
 
Leading the workshop will be:

  • the Rev. Dr. John Loum, director of the seminary’s Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology.  Loum has worked among Muslims in Europe, Africa and the United States for more than 20 years.
  • the Rev. Dr. Allan Buckman, chairman of the Peace Center for New Americans in St. Louis and a former missionary to Africa.
  • the Rev. Mark Weisner, pastor of Signal Hill Lutheran Church in Belleville, Ill.
