Seminary to announce new president May 21

Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS), Fort Wayne, will introduce its 17th president May 21 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time — both in the Student Commons on campus and via a live webcast.

Joining the seminary’s president-elect will be LCMS President Dr. Matthew C. Harrison; Dr. Robert T. Kuhn, chairman of the LCMS Board of Directors; Rev. Wayne Graumann, chairman of the CTS Board of Regents; and current CTS President Dr. Dean O. Wenthe — who will share their thoughts on the election and the future of the seminary.

“This is an exciting time in the life of Concordia Theological Seminary,” Graumann said.  “We have been blessed with tremendous leadership by President Dean Wenthe for the past 15 years, and now a new leader will soon have the God-given opportunity to prepare workers for God’s work into the future.

“The best days of the seminary are still to come, by the grace of God.”

Wenthe, 66, has served as the seminary’s president since 1996.  In January he announced his intention to retire, and said he plans to step down from the post when his successor is installed.
