The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod will provide — at www.lcms.org/marchforlife — same-day, online Lutheran coverage of the “March for Life” on Monday, Jan. 23, in Washington, D.C.
The march — which drew an estimated 400,000 people last year — is held annually to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in the United States.
LCMS staff members who will take part this year — along with Lutherans from across the country — include LCMS Office of National Mission Executive Director Rev. Bart Day and Life Ministries Special Projects Coordinator Ed Szeto. Also marching will be the Rev. Christopher S. Esget, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Va., and LCMS Sanctity of Human Life Committee member, and members of Immanuel.
“The national March for Life is a wonderful way for Lutherans to give voice to those who have been silenced — the little ones who have been stripped of life and liberty,” said Day.
On march day, the LCMS “March for Life” online newsroom will offer:

An LCMS delegation of marchers will start the day with a 9 a.m. EST worship service at Immanuel, Alexandria. Day will deliver the sermon.
A pre-march rally begins at noon EST on the National Mall. The march is expected to conclude about 3 p.m. at the U.S. Supreme Court building.
