Both LCMS seminaries are inviting prospective students — especially those considering the vocations of pastor or deaconess — and their guests to visit the two campuses during special events this summer. Basic information about those events is presented here. For more details, contact the individuals listed for the seminaries and/or visit their websites.
Vocatio — June 27-July 2
Meant to be a fun opportunity for high-school youth to participate in Bible study, worship and discussion about vocation, this five-day retreat on Concordia Seminary’s campus encourages participants to find God’s calling for their lives through studying theology, learning from seminary professors and engaging in thoughtful conversation together. Activities throughout the week include a servant event, worship, a college fair and visits to St. Louis attractions.
Next Steps — July 17-18
A two-day event designed to provide prospective students and their families an opportunity to connect with the Concordia Seminary community and gain insight into what life at the seminary is like. Orientation and panel discussions will enable current students to share why they decided to attend the seminary and how they and their families made the transition. Information sessions cover practical issues for families — such as moving, employment, healthcare, childcare, schools and more.

Phoebe Academy—High School — July 9-12
This event provides an opportunity for high-school women to learn about the vocation of deaconess from a theological perspective. Attendees will explore God’s Word on mercy and what it means for us today, while developing friendships with like-minded women that can last a lifetime. They also will meet deaconesses who are serving in the church, learn what they do and how they are trained to serve. See a schedule and registration form at ctsfw.edu/PAHS. Also, email PhoebeAcademy@ctsfw.edu or call 800-481-2155 for more information.
