 The Lutheran Witness welcomes notices 50 words or less from LCMS congre­gations about their upcoming “milestone” anniversaries.  Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Gainesville, Fla., is celebrating its 25th anniversary on November 13. Rev. Dr. Gregory Seltz will be guest preacher at the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Madison, Wis., is celebrating its 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Sunday, October 2. Rev. Dr. John Wille, district president of the South Wisconsin district, will preach at the 9:30 a.m. service. Service will be followed by catered luncheon and program.

 

Outer Drive Faith Lutheran Church, Detroit, Mich., will be celebrating its 80th anniversary October 29 through November 13. The celebration will feature a gospel music concert and other activities. Former pastor, James Wiggins, will preach at our “anniversary” worship service scheduled for 10:00 a.m., November 13. The service will be followed by a catered meal. St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, Mo., is celebrating its 145th anniversary on October 23. Rev. James Wilshusen will be guest speaker for the 10:00 a.m. service. A pot luck meal will be served at noon; a cemetery walk will be held in the afternoon.

 

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ladysmith, Wis., will celebrate its 100th anniversary, “Sharing the Love of Jesus Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow” on October 9 at the 10:00 a.m. service. North Wisconsin district president Rev. Dwayne Lueck will be our guest preacher. A catered meal will follow the service. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carver, Minn., is celebrating its 150th anniversary Sunday, September 25, with Rev. John Niebuhr preaching at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning worship service. A chicken dinner will be served following the worship service. Rev. Keith Grimm will serve as guest preacher at the 1:00 p.m. Celebration Service. A reception and fellowship will be held following the afternoon worship service.

 

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, Ind., is celebrating its 175th anniversary on Sunday, October 2.  Village Lutheran Church, Bronxville, N.Y., is celebrating its 100th anniversary (2016) and 70th anniversary of The Chapel School (2017). Zion Lutheran Church, Township of Easton, Marathon County, Wis., is celebrating its 120th anniversary on October 16, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Nathan Meador, former pastor, will be preaching. Social time and a meal will follow the service.

 

Zion Lutheran Church, Macon, Mo., will celebrate its 150th anniversary on September 18, with a 10:00 a.m. service led by former pastor Wray Offermann. Kent Oexman will be featured in an organ recital at 3:15 p.m. Celebration Service at 4:00 p.m. with guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Dale Meyer, will be followed by dinner.
