Mission Work Today — May 2016

With missionaries on five continents, the reach of Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod mission work spans the globe. The LCMS works in unexpected places, revitalizing struggling churches and planting new churches.

Missionaries are sent by the Lord through the mediation of His Church. An LCMS missionary is called — that is, ordained or commissioned — or appointed (medical personnel, business, administrative, or other workers) by the Board for International Mission and sent to bear Witness to the Gospel of Jesus, to show Mercy, or to support those who do, as we have a Life Together.
