KFUO program addresses positive, negative power of words

Words have power. Words educate, inform and entertain us. Words can shape our vision of our world.

They can also be used to distort truth. Words can be weapons.

The positive and negative power of words was the topic as LCMS Communications’ Roger Drinnon and Peter Slayton joined host Kip Allen on August’s “Free to be Faithful” program on Worldwide KFUO. Drinnon is director of Editorial and Media Relations, and Slayton is manager of Social Media.

The discussion focused on changes in the news-reporting and social-media lexicon, including recent changes to The Associated Press Stylebook that impact language regarding LGBT, marriage and life issues.
