The decorations started appearing before Thanksgiving. Christmas celebrations seem to begin earlier and earlier each year. Yet despite the concern about the commercialization and secularization of the Christmas season, there is a reason to rejoice. In many of the adornments of the season, Christ is displayed for this world to see Him as God’s love for sinful humanity.
The church is resplendent with hymns and other forms of art to help the faithful, as well as those who rarely come, to hear and see their Savior. The issue also discusses the importance of visitation for the church, even as at Christmas we celebrate God’s gracious visitation through His Son, our Savior, Jesus.
