Lutheran Heritage Foundation (LHF), an LCMS Recognized Service Organization, translates, publishes, distributes and introduces books that are Bible-based, Christ-centered and Reformation-driven. In more than 90 countries and 140 languages, thousands of people have come to faith in Christ because they’ve been able to read books in their own languages.

In the LCMS Latin America and Caribbean region, LHF has provided 110,611 books in Spanish for the churches and missions as follows, with no cost to the recipients:

  • 73,471 Bibles with Small Catechism;
  • 27,755 copies of A Child’s Garden of Bible Stories; and
  • 9,385 Luther’s Small Catechisms.

In addition, LHF has provided significant support for Himnario Luterano, the Spanish Lutheran hymnal. The organization paid for the printing of the first 19,000 Spanish hymnals. Likewise, it is supporting the second printing of 25,000 hymnals.

The Rev. Ted Krey, regional director for the LCMS Latin America and Caribbean region, said, “We give thanks in the name of Jesus for the accompaniment of LHF, walking alongside our partner churches and LCMS missions across Latin America as they make known the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins.

“They have been stalwart in assisting us in throwing the Gospel seed far and wide. They are appreciated and a great blessing to our work.”
