The Ohio District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) met for its 24th regular convention June 22–24 in Dublin, Ohio. The convention theme, “Scripture Alone,” was drawn from 1 Thessalonians 2:13. During the convention, delegates elected the Rev. Dr. Kevin Wilson, Marysville, Ohio, on the second ballot to a third term as district president.
Also elected were:
- Rev. Dr. Paul Schlueter, Chuckery, Ohio, Southeast Region, to a first term as first vice-president after filling a vacancy as third vice-president;
- Rev. Mark Love, Toledo, Ohio, Northwest Region, to a first term as second vice-president;
- Rev. Everette Greene, Cincinnati, Ohio, Southwest Region, to a second term as third vice-president after previously serving as first vice-president;
- Rev. Anders Davidson, Lakewood, Ohio, North Central Region, to a second term as fourth vice-president after previously serving as second vice-president; and
- Rev. Michael Wallace, North Canton, Ohio, Northeast Region, to a first term as fifth vice-president.
All elected officers were installed during the convention and will begin their terms on Sept. 1.
Delegates adopted resolutions:
- To call upon the leadership of Concordia University Wisconsin and Ann Arbor to support church work programs at the Ann Arbor campus to their fullest capacity;
- To reaffirm the sanctity of human life by condemning needless loss of life through the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF) while also encouraging support for couples who have troubled consciences over prior use of IVF and affirming the value of every human life, regardless of how each is conceived; and
- To suggest the following three mission priorities to the LCSM 2026 convention for the next triennium: Strengthening LCMS congregations and schools by building on their biblical and confessional foundation; equipping laity and church workers to more intentionally and joyfully live out their vocation; and increasing Gospel outreach throughout the LCMS, especially through new congregations, schools and Registered Service Organizations.
