Marie Langer, a junior at Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas, is all smiles Oct. 3 as she pets “Angel,” a comfort dog from Lutheran Church Charities. Langer was at the Oct. 1 concert where hundreds were killed or injured and was “inconsolable at school until the dogs showed up,” said the school’s CEO, Dr. Steve Buuck. The dogs, he added, “absolutely helped” by providing “an incredible source of comfort and peace to many of our students who are really hurting emotionally because of this attack.” (Dan Buikema)
