The founder of Habitat for Humanity International and a former Miss America who is now a broadcast journalist are scheduled keynote speakers for the 2004 educational conference of the Association of Lutheran Development Executives (ALDE).
Marking ALDE’s 25th anniversary, the conference is set for Feb. 27-March 1 at the Adams Mark Hotel in downtown St. Louis.
The speakers are Millard Fuller of Americus, Ga., also president of Habitat International, and Debbye Turner, New York City, Miss America 1990 and currently host of segments on CBS’ “The Early Show.”
Each of seven conference training sessions will offer at least six workshops on such topics as basics of planned giving, trends in church giving, strategic planning, knowing donors, and future challenges. There also will be gatherings for those in similar ministries, a pre-conference master’s program and worship.
Conference registration for ALDE members, which includes receptions and most meals, is $475 per person by Dec. 15; $575 from Dec. 16 through Feb. 13; and $625 after Feb. 13. Non-member registration is an additional $100.
Conference participants who make room reservations with the Adams Mark by Jan. 24 receive rates of $111 per day for singles or doubles, $121 for triples, and $131 for quads. To reserve a room, call (800) 444-2326.
