Rev. Al Tormoehlen says he would like to hear from anyone interested in attending an Aug. 25-29 training event in St. Louis for the Harvesters For Christ program.
“We are looking for people of all kinds — laity and/or church professionals, with hearts for those who do not know Jesus,” said Tormoehlen, director of the Harvesters program, with the Synod’s Board for District and Congregational Services. “Our goal is to have at least 12 new trainees at the event.”
Tormoehlen said that Harvesters teams — usually retired couples — work with congregations to train their members in canvassing and witnessing techniques and conduct Bible studies about reaching out to those who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Teams usually spend three to four consecutive weeks with congregations, who cover the lodging, meals and travel for their teams.
