Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will host its winter 2009 Lay Bible Institute from 7 to 9 p.m. on consecutive Wednesday evenings — Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28 — on its campus.
The institute topic, “Woman and Man — According to God’s Plan,” will be presented by Dr. Joel Biermann, associate professor of systematic theology at the seminary.
The institute, designed for laypeople, will encourage participants to consider God’s basic operating paradigm for His creation, beginning with the creation account and also exploring the gospels and epistles.
The class will discuss a number of topics, including the roles of men and women in the home and in the church, the question of the ordination of women, and the implications that God’s truth has for secular society.
Registration is $30 and includes all handouts and refreshments. For more information, or to register, contact the seminary at 314-505-7486 or ce@csl.edu.
