HOUSTON—The convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has approved updated language for the church body’s Articles of Incorporation.
During an afternoon session July 16, delegates adopted a resolution that includes revisions reflecting changes in structure and governance adopted earlier by the convention. Other revisions describe more accurately the objectives, purposes and activities of the Synod. The updated language was recommended by the Synod’s Commission on Structure.
The 64th Regular Convention meets through July 17 at the George R. Brown Convention Center under the theme “ONE People—Forgiven.” Approximately 3,000 persons are in attendance, including some 1,200 clergy and lay voting delegates.
