Opportunities online and elsewhere will be available to spread the news about what is happening at the July 17-21 National LCMS Youth Gathering in New Orleans.
The Gathering website, www.lcmsgathering.com, will provide a taste of the Gathering throughout those five days with highlights of events and activities via live streaming, audio tracks, written articles, pictures and videos.
The site’s “Latest News” page will offer a rolling stream of updates. “The Day in Pictures” will feature rotating pictures that capture the Gathering experience. And the “Press Room” page will have links to local and national news coverage of the Gathering.
The July 20 evening worship service and each Mass Event — where all Gathering participants come together at the Louisiana Superdome — will be streamed live online (and cost-free) at www.lcms.org/nyg. Each stream will begin 15 minutes prior to each event. Evening events July 17-20 begin at 8 p.m. (CDT) and the July 21 event begins at 9 a.m.
Facebook and Twitter also will feature what’s happening at the Gathering. To access the Gathering group on Facebook, go to the Gathering website and click the link to Facebook. The Twitter feed will be at www.twitter.com/lcmsnyg. To see what participants are tweeting, enter “#lcmsnyg” in the search box.
After the Gathering, all congregations with participants in the Gathering will receive a post-Gathering DVD in the mail. The DVD will include resources and features for use in Bible study, worship, post-Gathering events and youth events, and will give participants and those who were not at the Gathering a way to engage with the Gathering theme of WE BELIEVE long after the event has ended.
