Becca Jones and Tom Buuck began filling two leadership positions with the Lutheran Church Extension Fund’s St. Louis office in early January.
Jones became senior vice-president, Marketing and Customer Support, on Jan. 4, in the post that became vacant when Glenn Mahnken left it in late November to be vice-president and chief marketing officer for Concordia Plan Services (click here to read related story).
Buuck began serving Jan. 3 in LCEF’s new position of chief credit officer.
A member of the LCEF staff since 2002, Jones now manages a department staff that includes investment processing, information representatives, ministry resources and the marketing team.
Previously, she was director of Customer Relations and before that was communications manager with LCEF. Prior to joining LCEF, Jones was a ministry-support coordinator for the LCMS Foundation, after working for the St. Louis-based brokerage firm Edward Jones.
In 2003, she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and management from Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon.
Buuck most recently has held leadership posts in commercial real estate financing in Idaho. In his new position, he guides LCEF’s lending activities, ensuring that guidelines, approvals and procedures meet policy standards, regulatory requirements and investor expectations.
Buuck is chairman of the investment committee of the Concordia Wisconsin Foundation and is a member of the credit committee of the State of Idaho Mortgage Pension Fund. He previously served on the LCEF Board of Directors.
Buuck earned a bachelor’s degree in 1987 from Concordia University Wisconsin and an M.B.A. in 1991 from Portland State University, in Portland, Ore.
Jones and Buuck both report to Rich Robertson, LCEF’s president/CEO.
“We are extremely pleased and blessed to have these two new senior management team members assume their new responsibilities this new year,” Robertson said. “Becca and Tom are extremely talented leaders, with experience and backgrounds that will serve our organization well. They are passionate about this ministry and will help us explore ways to be the best financial resource possible to The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.”
