A Service of Installation is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, for the Synod president, six vice-presidents and other officers, as well as newly elected and appointed members of LCMS boards and commissions. The service will be held in the seminary’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus.
Live video streaming of the entire service will be provided at lcms.org/installation.
Preaching for the worship service with Holy Communion will be the Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee, president of Lutheran Church—Canada.
Several other international Lutheran church leaders also plan to attend, including Archbishop Christian Ekong of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, the Rev. Mario Lehenbauer of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil, the Rev. Dr. Walter Obare of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya, the Rev. Dr. Alexander Priljutskiy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria in Russia and Bishop Mindaugas Sabutis of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lithuania.
LCMS pastors within a 200-mile radius of St. Louis have been invited to take part in the entrance procession; they are asked to RSVP by Sept. 1 to Deaconess Sandra Bowers at 314-996-1741 or sandra.bowers@lcms.org. To demonstrate “life together in the church,” members of the Concordia Deaconess Conference and local Lutheran school faculty also have been invited to participate in the entrance procession.
A complimentary lunch and entertainment by George Portz and His Friends of Bluegrass will immediately follow the installation service. The service and festivities are open to the public.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t they “installed” at the convention?
There were no installations at the convention.
will this event be live-streamed? If so can you provide the link?
Stay tuned to http://www.lcms.org! We’ll have a rotating tile that will go directly to the link once we know where it will be.
Just in! It can viewed online at http://www.lcms.org/installation.
I missed most of it and would like to hear it, especially Pastor Bugbee’s sermon. Is it available somewhere?
James, the sermon from the installation is now available at https://www.lcms.org/installation. Thank you for your patience.
