We continue to connect The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s programs of mercy with our local congregations, our missionaries and our partner churches around the world.
A parishioner came to me troubled by the “Specialized Pastoral Ministry” section featuring a woman chaplain. This parishioner was wondering why a woman was doing pastoral ministry. While I understand that the chaplain is not a pastor, I also understand my parishioner’s confusion over the rather misleading title of “Specialized Pastoral Ministry”: both “pastor” and “minister” are suggested by that title. Couldn’t we find something a little less confusing?
