In Baltimore: ‘sharing Gospel in middle of pain’

I would prefer that church leaders avoid pandering to one sided views of social ills and political problems. Pray with people and preach the Gospel but avoid jumping in bed with liberal left leaning theories about why certain things are happening. There are social problems to be sure in low income neighborhoods, but there is also a lack of accountability and self-discipline. The problems evidenced in Baltimore and in other American cities is not just about racism of whites and so called “white privilege”. The problem is rather more complex than that, and when LCMS leaders go forth parroting the opinions of the liberal left they loose credibility as honest stewards of God’s truth, both Law and Gospel.
