“Going Green — Biblical Truth or Brief Trend?” is the topic of a free webinar scheduled for 1-2 p.m. Central time on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Sponsored by LCMS Youth Ministry, the webinar is being offered as a support resource for professional and lay leaders who work with youth.
“It seems like everyone is talking about ‘going green’ these days,” says the Rev. A. Trevor Sutton, the webinar’s presenter. “This raises a question,” he said. “Is this just a brief trend that will come and go? Or, is environmental stewardship based in biblical truth?” Sutton will lead the discussion exploring how God uses us to care for creation.
At the 2016 LCMS Youth Gathering, Sutton spoke on the same topic and led an interest-center session titled “Faith and Science: Moving Beyond Debates.”
An associate pastor at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Haslett, Mich., Sutton is the author of two books from Concordia Publishing House: Being Lutheran: Living in the Faith You Have Received and Why Can I Trust the Bible? He lives in Okemos, Mich., with his wife, Elizabeth, and daughters Grace and Hannah.
