Congress includes six LCMS members

Convening Jan. 3, the 115th United States Congress includes six LCMS congregation members who served in the previous session — five members of the House of Representatives and one senator. All of them are Republicans.

Re-elected in November, LCMS members serving in the House are Dr. Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.), Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.), Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.), Dave Reichert (R-Wash.) and John Shimkus (R-Ill.).

In the Senate, Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) was elected to a six-year term in 2014.
