Deaconess Sara Smith and the Rev. Steve Schave stand proud on the lawn of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cincinnati — where they served at the time —on the day demolition began for the apartment complex known as the “Devil’s Playground.” That day came to represent a revitalization for the neighborhood.
