The annual conference of the Association of Lutheran Mission Agencies (ALMA) will be held Jan. 14-16 at the Synod’s International Center in St. Louis under the theme “Growing in His Mission.”
The conference, sponsored by LCMS World Mission, is open to ALMA members and others with an interest in supporting mission work worldwide. Established in 1996, ALMA is an organization of some 75 LCMS-related mission groups that work in a variety of specialties, people groups, and world areas.
Workshops will be offered on using Web sites, funding mission work, governing mission societies, the “top-10” mission trends, and other topics.
Speakers include Dr. Eugene Bunkowski, a professor at the Oswald Hoffmann School of Christian Outreach, St. Paul, Minn., who will address “Biblical Missiology”; Rev. Matthew Harrison, executive director of LCMS World Relief/Human Care, who will speak on “The Holistic Approach in Missions”; and Dr. Robert Roegner, executive director of LCMS World Mission, who will share information about the Ablaze! initiative.
Registration is $110 and includes meals. An optional “cross-cultural tour” is available for $25. Lodging is available at the Best Western Kirkwood Inn for $67 (single) or $72 (double).
