Registration begins in mid-March for the 87th annual International Lutheran Laymen’s League convention, July 22-25 in Rapid City, S.D. Theme of the gathering is “Seek His Face,” based on Psalm 105:4.
Designed for Christian families of all ages, this year’s convention will include Christian music, Christian celebration, motivational speakers and faith-based family activities.
The convention opens at 4 p.m. July 22 with a worship service, followed by general sessions featuring presentations by Int’l LLL leaders, including retiring President Alvin Waldron.
Other presenters include Dr. Shirley Bergman, founding director of the Lutheran Institute on Aging and Family at Concordia University, Seward, Neb.; Rev. Kenneth Klaus, speaker for Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM); and Honorary Lutheran Hour Speaker Dr. Oswald C.J. Hoffmann.
Other convention activities include:
- an evening at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, with a 9 p.m. viewing of the lighting ceremony, and
- “God’s Grace in Rapid City — A Celebration Event!,” a 90-minute worship celebration involving more than 2,000 members of local Lutheran congregations, LCMS clergy, lnt’l LLL members and guests. Klaus will preach.
