Information about religious organizations and movements — both Christian and non-Christian — is now accessible on the LCMS Web site as a service of the Commission on Theology and Church Relations.
The site currently provides summaries of the history, basic beliefs, and evaluations from a Lutheran perspective on beliefs such as the occult, Wicca, Satanism, and New Age, plus organizations like the Unification Church and the International Churches of Christ and Judaism. More topics will be added to the “Religious Organizations and Movements” site as CTCR staff is able to prepare the information.
Monitoring cults and religious movements became a responsibility of the CTCR in 2001 when the former Commission on Organizations was discontinued.
