Protect My Ministry, an employment and volunteer background-screening company, has joined the LCMS National Contract Program.
Barb Ryan, executive director of the Synod’s Department of Human Resources, and Mike Magee, manager of the LCMS National Contract Program, announced the addition to the program in a memo to senior pastors of Synod congregations and principals of their schools.
Their memo reads as follows:
“The Synod has negotiated a contract with Protect My Ministry to join our National Contract Program.
“Protect My Ministry is an employment and volunteer background screening company established to assist churches, schools, and other faith-based organizations in implementing and maintaining a thorough background screening process. We worked not only to negotiate the best possible rates but also to find a company that will provide high quality service.
“We recognize that individual entities will determine when they conduct background checks, and that they are free to select the company used to provide the service. However, we encourage our districts, congregations, schools, recognized service organizations, and other ministries to value background screenings as part of their vital business protection plans.
“With the discounted rates that we have negotiated with Protect My Ministry, we hope that our affiliates will also conclude that these services are affordable when engaging volunteers and employees who will become a regular part of each entity’s ministry.
“Again, as Protect My Ministry has been selected as a preferred service provider, we encourage all of our affiliates to learn more about this company by visiting www.lcms.org/?10052, www.protectmyministry.com/lcms, or the National Contract Program Web site at www.lcms.org/ncp. Information on pricing, services and sample reports is available.”
