The Concordia Seminary Chorus, under the direction of Rev. Henry V. Gerike, will visit Lutheran churches in Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Illinois during its 2010 Spring Tour.
The Chorus will provide sacred concerts in the form of choral Evening Prayer that includes prayer, Scripture readings, and congregational singing.
The itinerary for the upcoming tour is as follows:
- Sunday, Feb. 14, 3 p.m. — Salem Lutheran Church, Affton, Mo.
- Saturday, Feb. 20, 7 p.m. — Grace Lutheran Church, Columbus, Ind.
- Sunday, Feb. 21, 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. — Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, Ind.
- Sunday, Feb. 21, 5 p.m. — Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamilton, Ohio.
- Monday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. — Ascension Lutheran Church, Atlanta.
- Tuesday, Feb. 23, 7 p.m. — Trinity Lutheran Church, Orlando, Fla.
- Wednesday, Feb. 24, 7 p.m. — St. Paul Lutheran Church, Boca Raton, Fla.
- Thursday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m. — Grace Lutheran Church, Naples, Fla.
- Friday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m. — Concordia Lutheran Church, Sarasota, Fla.
- Sunday, Feb. 28, 10:30 a.m. — Christ the King Lutheran Church, Enterprise, Ala.
- Sunday, Feb. 28, 7 p.m. — Grace Lutheran Church, Mobile, Ala.
- Monday, March 1, 7 p.m. — Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bossier City, La.
- Sunday, March 14, 4 p.m. — St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Ill.
The Concordia Seminary Chorus, which includes the spring tour group, numbers about 60 seminarians, who commit to balancing full course loads with weekly rehearsals and special tour rehearsals. The Chorus has performed in more than 30 states and provinces in North America during the last 22 years. Gerike has conducted the Chorus since 1992, after serving as its student conductor for five years.
