“Are We Still Fighting the Crusades?” is the topic of the Aug. 20 Lay Bible Institute at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
The daylong workshop will be led by Dr. Paul Robinson, associate professor and chairman of the seminary’s Department of Historical Theology.
Robinson will define “crusade,” examine the religious origins of the crusading movement, recount the conquest of the Holy Land (as well as its subsequent loss) and explore the crusading idea beyond the Middle Ages.
Registration for the Lay Bible Institute is $20. To register or for more information, contact the Continuing Education and Parish Services office at 314-505-7486 or ce@csl.edu. Or, visit the seminary’s website at www.csl.edu.
